Roseville Park Off-Leash Area

Roseville Park's off-leash area sits on Clanville Road at the corner of Gregory and Marjorie Streets, a fenced patch of open ground that Upper North Shore locals treat as the default spot for a proper run. It is an easy walk from Roseville station and busy enough on weekends that well-socialised dogs do best.

The dog setup

Under Ku-ring-gai Council rules, dogs stay under effective control at all times, leashed on the way in and out of the zone, and back on lead the moment they leave it. Stay off the sports ovals while games or training are on, and keep at least 10 metres clear of the playground and any food preparation areas. Pick up immediately, and council fines up to $275 for not doing so. The wider park adds bubblers, toilets, picnic tables and barbecues, and the off-leash area itself has a water tap, bins and shaded seating around the edges.

Worth knowing

The park carries seven tennis courts, a soccer field, cricket nets and multipurpose courts, so the surrounding parkland is busy with sport much of the week. The off-leash zone borders residential yards along parts of its fence line, and the ground takes a while to dry after rain.

Max: walk the fence line before you let your dog off. Some sections back straight onto residential yards, and it pays to know where the gates are if you need a quick exit.

Getting there and parking

The area is on Clanville Road, Roseville, within easy walking distance of Roseville railway station on the North Shore line. Street parking runs along Clanville Road and the surrounding residential streets, and fills with sport traffic on Saturdays.

Close by with the dogs

Little Digger Track is the local bush walk for an on-lead leg stretch, and Killara Off-Leash Dog Area is the next suburb's unfenced option if you want quieter space. Cafes along the Pacific Highway in Roseville and Lindfield take dogs on lead at outdoor tables, and Gardener's Lodge cafe sits right beside the park on Clanville Road.
