Two Creeks Track: Echo Point Park to Gordon Creek

Two Creeks Track runs from Echo Point Park in Roseville Chase down toward Gordon Creek, tracing sandstone caves, mangroves and water views over Middle Harbour before climbing back through gully bushland. The deciding fact: dogs must stay on lead the entire way, and rangers actually check.

The walk. Reckon on about 9.8 km round trip to Gordon Creek and back, though the route is flexible and you can turn around whenever your dog has had enough. The grade is moderate, with some rock scrambling and tree roots underfoot, better suited to a fit dog than a puppy or an older dog with sore hips.

The rules. Ku-ring-gai Council manages Echo Point Park and the track, and dogs must be on lead throughout the park, the track and the waterfront. This is patrolled regularly, not a suggestion. The critical access limit: parts of the track cross Garigal National Park, where dogs are not permitted at all, even on lead. National park rules override the council's on-lead allowance there, so stick to the shared-use track and follow every sign. Clean up after your dog and keep them under control around wildlife.

Water. There are water views over Middle Harbour and mangrove flats for a scenic pause, but this is an on-lead route with no off-leash swimming anywhere on the track or waterfront.

Hazards. The track can become impassable after heavy rain, particularly the stretch under the Eastern Arterial Road, which runs through a stormwater tunnel. Check conditions if it has been wet.

Getting there. Free parking is at Echo Point Park, Babbage Road, Roseville Chase, which also has toilets, a playground, electric BBQs and shaded picnic tables. Nearest train stations are Roseville or Lindfield, both a bus ride or long walk from the trailhead.
