Osborne Park

Osborne Park is the Kangaroo Valley Showground, a wide, flat expanse of grass on Moss Vale Road ringed by escarpment views. It is not a bushwalk, but it is an easy on-lead leg stretch in a valley where dog options are few.

Lead rules

Shoalhaven City Council allows dogs here on a lead only. There are no off-lead areas in the park or the wider village, and dogs are banned from Morton National Park, which covers much of the surrounding bush.

The grounds

You walk on grass and flat ground past open lawns and the old community buildings, with the escarpments all around. Mature trees shade the edges and camping areas, but the central grounds have no shade.

There are toilets and bins on site, but no fixed dog water, so bring a bottle.

Getting started

The showground is at 179 to 185 Moss Vale Road, with plenty of parking on site, including room for trailers and vans.

For bush, try the Hampden Bridge Bush Loop. Then lunch at The Friendly Inn Hotel.

Flat ground and easy parking suit older dogs and anyone arriving with a caravan. Check for show or event days before you go.
