Valley Bliss Eatery

Valley Bliss Eatery is a chef-led cafe on the main strip at Shop 2/146 Moss Vale Road, in the middle of Kangaroo Valley village. It leans on local, seasonal produce, and it openly welcomes dogs on its covered deck, which makes it an easy breakfast or lunch stop when you have the dog in tow for a weekend in the valley.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating, a generous covered deck with leafy views, so it works even when the weather turns. Keep your dog leashed and out of the traffic paths between tables and the kitchen door. Staff are accommodating, but bring your own water bowl rather than assuming one is on the table.

The vibe and the menu

The kitchen is known for its breakfasts: ricotta pancakes, avo toast and poached eggs are the regular orders, with banana bread, croissants and a green bowl for the lighter appetites, plus vegetarian and vegan options. Daytime service runs from 8am to 2pm, with dinner service on Thursday to Saturday evenings, so check the day before planning an evening visit.

Getting there and parking

The eatery sits centrally on Moss Vale Road, the main road through the village, roughly half an hour from Nowra or Bowral. Free street parking runs along the road out front, though it fills on weekends and through holiday periods, so arrive early.

Make a day of it

The village street is walkable and leads down to Hampden Bridge, the old suspension bridge over the Kangaroo River, for a short leg-stretch; keep in mind the surrounding national park land is a no-dogs zone, so stay to the village and riverside paths. In town, The Friendly Inn Hotel is the historic pub stop, and Glenmack Park offers dog-friendly stays if you are making a weekend of it. For a second cafe, IV Coffee at Berry is down the road.
