Manly Foreshore Promenade

The Manly foreshore path runs along Brisbane's bayside past Manly Boat Harbour, a flat sealed walk with Moreton Bay on one side and moored yachts on the other. Dogs walk it on a lead, and a beach nearby lets them run free.

Lead rules

Brisbane City Council requires dogs on a lead along the public foreshore paths and parks.

Off-lead time happens on the beach at the end of Davenport Drive, between the southern and northern rock walls, where council opened a foreshore off-leash trial. It balances dogs with shorebird protection, so check the signs for current conditions.

The walk

The path is wide, flat concrete shared with cyclists, and it links toward Norfolk Point and the Moreton Bay Cycleway. Expect fishing boats, yachts and big open views across the bay.

Water and shade

Bubblers are spread through the Manly and Wynnum foreshore parklands, and bins line the path. Mature trees and shelters shade some sections, but the open stretches take full sun, so carry a bowl in warm weather.

Parking is around the harbour, the Esplanade and Davenport Drive.

Make a day of it

Wynnum is next door for coffee, with The Shed and Frenchies Cafe Wynnum both nearby.

Mornings and late afternoons bring the sea breeze and softer sun. It suits dogs who are calm around bikes, with a beach run as the reward.
