Iris Place Park

A long, narrow strip of green in Fitzgibbon, Iris Place Park is an easy neighbourhood walk on concrete paths, with the odd horse grazing in the paddocks nearby. It is on-lead territory, handy for a daily loop away from busy roads.

Lead rules

Brisbane City Council manages the park. Dogs are allowed on a leash and under effective control, since it is not one of the council's designated off-leash areas.

The walk

Connected paths run through the park and carry on toward Bracken Ridge, beside open stormwater corridors and quiet residential pockets. A casual stroll takes around 20 to 30 minutes.

Along the way there is a playground, picnic tables and a small fitness area. Water is not confirmed, so bring some for the dog.

For off-lead time, the Daytime Hidden World Dog Off-Leash Area is nearby, and Beyond The Brew Fitzgibbon does the coffee.

The flat paved path suits older dogs and puppies. Horse-curious dogs may need a firm lead near the paddocks.
