Greenacre Road Reserve is a patch of council open space in Gwynneville, tucked beside Greenacre Road where the Fairy Creek corridor runs past Wiseman Park. It suits a short, easy walk with the dog on lead.
Lead rules
Wollongong City Council does not list the reserve as an off-leash area, so dogs stay on a lead the whole way. Keep them at least 10 metres back from playgrounds and sports facilities in use.
The walk
Sealed shared paths follow the creek through the corridor. Joining them with the park edges makes an informal loop of roughly a kilometre or a bit more.
Expect a small urban creek, regenerating native trees, stormwater basins and open grass. Street parking is along Greenacre Road and the nearby residential streets.
Pepsi: Bins and water are thin on the ground along the minor paths, so pack bags and a bottle before you set off.
