C9 Chocolate and Gelato Wollongong

C9 Chocolate and Gelato is a dessert bar at 2/222 Keira Street in the Wollongong CBD, doing house-made gelato, waffles and chocolate. The standout for dog owners is Pup Pops, a gelato made for visiting dogs, served at the footpath tables out front.

The dog setup

Dogs join you at the outdoor footpath seating, not inside, where access is generally limited to service dogs. Your dog can have a Pup Pop alongside your own scoop, which makes this an easy victory lap after a foreshore walk. Outdoor space is limited and busy on weekend nights, so come early for a table.

Worth knowing

The menu is built around fresh house-made gelato, waffles and crepes, chocolate fondues, coffee and hot chocolate, with pistachio and falodeh among the flavour range and croffles and churros on the board. This is a dessert stop rather than a meal spot. Hours run from late morning to about 9:30pm, stretching to 10pm Thursday through Saturday.

Getting there and parking

C9 is on Keira Street, one of the main dining strips in the Gong. Street parking runs along Keira and the side streets, check the meter times, and the Wollongong Central car parks are a few minutes away on foot.

Close by with the dogs

The Keira and Crown Street strips have plenty of dog-friendly footpath seating for cafe-hopping, with Opus Coffee Brewers and Lee and Me both close by. Coniston Dog Beach is a short drive south, off-leash around the clock within its marked zone, so a sand session before dessert works well.
