Southview Boutique Guesthouse

Southview Boutique Guesthouse is a small family-run property on Southview Street, Bulli, sitting between Sandon Point and Bulli Beach about 15 minutes north of Wollongong. It is a four-storey split-level home with three private accommodations under one roof, and dogs are taken in the ground-floor Garden Suite on request.

The Garden Suite is the pet-friendly option: the entire ground floor, with a fully enclosed courtyard the property describes as perfect for pets, no stairs, and its own entrance. It is pet friendly on request rather than by default, so confirm at booking, and if the Garden Suite is taken the owners can offer their pet-friendly two-bedroom duplex, Point Bulli, nearby. Note that the top-floor Seaview Suite is explicitly not pet friendly. Third-party listings mention a weight limit around 25kg, one pet per booking and a fee of roughly $50, but the guesthouse's own pages publish no pet specifics, so get the current terms in writing when you enquire. Bring your own pet bed and bowls, and don't leave a dog unattended for long stretches.

The place

The Garden Suite runs 57 square metres, sleeps two adults plus children on a fold-out, and has a full kitchen, BBQ and its own outdoor living. Upstairs, the Seaview Suite takes the whole top floor with a four-poster bed, wrap-around balcony and hydrotherapy spa bath, which tells you the house's overall register: a couples-and-small-families retreat rather than a big-group rental. Guests also share a heated spa plunge pool and garden setting.

Getting there and parking

Southview Street sits a short walk from both Sandon Point Beach and Bulli Beach, with the northern Illawarra coastal walkway close by. On-site parking is free but limited, with street parking in the residential street as a backup. Bulli station is walkable for the South Coast Line, and Sydney is about an hour and a quarter by car or train.

Close by with the dogs

For an off-leash beach run, Bark at the Beach at Thirroul is a couple of kilometres north. 34 South Bulli is the local dog-friendly cafe pick, and South Sailor at Thirroul is a good dinner stop on the way back.
