POD Emporium & Espresso

POD Emporium & Espresso is half boutique cafe, half homewares shop on Gipps Road in Gwynneville, just inland of Wollongong. The covered outdoor courtyard at the back welcomes leashed dogs, which means coffee, brunch and a browse for gifts can all happen in one stop with the dog settled at your feet.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the covered outdoor courtyard on a leash. Indoor seating is for people only, in line with the usual NSW food-premises rules. Water bowls are put out for visiting dogs so you will not need to bring your own, though a spare is worth carrying on a hot day when the courtyard is full.

Worth knowing

POD is known locally for its espresso, acai bowls, banana bread and bagels, plus a small range of gift and homewares items to browse while your order is made. The covered courtyard keeps things comfortable even when the weather turns, and the mood is relaxed rather than rushed, so it suits a slow mid-morning rather than a grab-and-go.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is at 1/174-182 Gipps Road, Gwynneville. Street parking on Gipps Road is limited, so use the side streets if it is busy, especially on weekend mornings. Hours run 7:30am to 2pm on weekdays and 8am to 1pm on weekends, so it is a morning-to-lunch venue.
