Glengarry Park

Glengarry Park is a quiet neighbourhood green off Kinloch Place in Duncraig, good for a short loop rather than a long hike. Dogs are allowed on lead, and mature trees keep much of the grass shaded.

Lead rules

The City of Joondalup manages the park. It is not a designated dog exercise area, so leads stay on throughout.

It is a better bet than nearby Percy Doyle Reserve, where dogs are not allowed at all.

What's around the loop

Concrete and asphalt paths wind past open grass, a well-equipped playground and public tennis courts. The paths join the suburb's footpaths, so it is easy to stretch the walk.

There are public toilets on site and street parking near Kinloch Place. Dog bubblers are not a sure thing, so bring a bottle and a bowl.

Make a day of it

Little H Cafe in Duncraig is handy for a coffee, and the tree-lined Lilburne Park Conservation Area makes a longer second walk.

Being a local park rather than a sports hub, it stays calm, which suits reactive or older dogs.
