Wingrove Park Walking Paths

Bushland, stormwater wetlands and Diamond Creek frame the paths through Wingrove Park in Eltham, with a loop of about 3 km. Keep dogs on lead on and near the paths, and use the signed off-lead zone for a run.

Leads and the off-lead zone

Nillumbik Shire Council has an off-lead area between the Wingrove Park Trail and Main Road, shared with Barak Bushlands. Dogs must be on a lead within 5 metres of the shared paths.

Bikes use these paths and roads run close by, so leads stay on for most of the walk.

The walk

Sealed paths cross open grassy fields and native bushland beside the creek, with plenty of birdlife. Mature eucalypts shade much of the track.

There is free parking near the reserve. Carry water for the dog on the loop.

Make a day of it

The fenced Eltham North Dog Park is close by, and Third Chapter in Eltham does coffee for afterwards.

It suits dogs that walk well past bikes. The paths also join the Diamond Creek Trail for a longer outing.
