Price Park Fenced Dog Park

Price Park's fenced off-leash area on Lyon Road is Viewbank's main dedicated dog park, recently upgraded by Banyule Council with better seating and a circuit walking trail around the fence line, and it sits with views out toward the Dandenongs and Lower Plenty.

The dog setup

Dogs run off-leash inside the fenced area, which has park benches, a drinking fountain with an attached dog bowl, and the circuit trail with fitness stations for owners on the outside. There is no separate small-dog yard, so keep an eye on size mismatches during the busy after-work hours.

Outside the fence, Banyule rules put dogs back on lead within five metres of the children's playground, the barbecue area and the shared pathways elsewhere in the reserve. Council waste dispensers take dog waste, and general bins have red lids, though it is worth carrying spare bags.

Pepsi: the new circuit path is handy for dogs that like to patrol the fence line. Do a lap on lead before unclipping so your dog settles instead of arriving wired.

The vibe

Regulars rate it as well maintained and social, with a friendly local crowd rather than a destination park scene. It is quieter mid-morning and fills after school and work on weekdays, and it stays local and low-key on weekends.

Getting there

The park is on Lyon Road, Viewbank, easiest reached by car via Lower Plenty Road or Martins Lane, with street parking on Lyon Road itself. Rosanna station on the Hurstbridge line is the nearest rail option, but it is a fair walk away, so plan a bus connection if you are coming by transit.
