Lord Reserve

Lord Reserve on Munro Avenue in Carnegie, next door to Ormond, is almost entirely an off-leash park. That makes its perimeter path a loop where a dog can trot beside you or stretch out on the grass.

Leads and the off-lead area

Glen Eira City Council allows dogs off leash across most of the reserve. Clip the lead back on within 20 metres of barbecues, picnic areas, playgrounds and sports facilities.

Dogs cannot go inside the fenced playgrounds or the cricket nets at all.

The walk

A paved shared path runs around three sports ovals, past exercise equipment and on towards Koornang Park. Mature trees along the edges give some shade, but the open fields sit in full sun.

Bins line the path, and there are toilets and seating on site. Water is available around the pavilion, and there is street parking on Munro Avenue.

Max: When a game or training is on, that oval counts as a sports facility. Keep your dog on lead and 20 metres clear until it finishes.

When to go

It is a regular meeting spot for dog owners from Carnegie and Ormond, so expect company. In summer, go early, before the sun gets onto the open ovals.
