EE Gunn Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

EE Gunn Reserve on Woodville Avenue is Ormond's local off-leash spot, a mostly fenced oval behind the playground and picnic area that doubles as a baseball ground. It is a small, community-feel reserve rather than a sprawling park, so it suits a regular loop or fetch session more than a long ramble.

The dog setup

Off-leash hours here are limited rather than all-day: council lists Monday to Thursday 8pm to 9pm and Friday 5pm to 9pm as the designated off-leash window, so outside those times dogs need to stay on lead across the reserve.

Even within the off-leash window, keep dogs leashed within 20 metres of the barbecues, picnic tables, playground and any sporting or maintenance activity, and keep them under effective voice control throughout. Council officers do patrol Glen Eira's off-leash areas and fines apply, so it pays to check current signage on-site as hours can be updated by the council.

The vibe

The reserve carries playgrounds, picnic shelters and a baseball diamond, and the crowd is neighbourhood regulars rather than travellers. Given the off-leash window sits in the evening, most daytime visits are on-lead walks around the oval perimeter, which still makes a decent circuit.

Getting there

The reserve sits between Woodville Avenue and Beatty Crescent in Ormond, with street parking along both sides that fills quickly during weekend sport. Ormond Station on the Frankston line is a short walk away, which saves the parking hunt entirely.
