Bundaberg Riverside Walk

The Riverside Walk traces the broad, tidal Burnett River through Bundaberg Central, near Quay Street and right on the edge of Bundaberg West. Dogs are welcome on the path and the parkland beside it, on lead the whole way.

Leads and the council

Bundaberg Regional Council looks after the walk. There is no off-lead section, so the lead stays on from start to finish.

The walk

Most of it is sealed concrete and asphalt, broken up by stretches of timber boardwalk. You pass green parkland, riverside cafes and the old bridges over the Burnett.

Parts of the walk have been closed for works before, so check council notices if you plan a long stroll.

Pair it with

Coffee on Bourbong is an easy coffee stop nearby. If your dog needs to run off lead afterwards, try the Bundaberg North Dog Park.

When to go

The flat, sealed path suits older dogs and short legs. On hot afternoons the concrete and boardwalk soak up the heat, so early morning or evening is kinder on paws.
