Indulge Bistro

Indulge Bistro is a smart-casual bistro on Bourbong Street, the main strip of central Bundaberg, doing creative breakfasts and lunches built on local produce. Dogs are welcome at the footpath tables out front, which makes it one of the more comfortable sit-down options in the CBD if you are walking the town with your dog.

The dog setup

The deal is simple: the outdoor seating along the footpath is where dogs go, and there is plenty of it compared to most main-street cafes. Staff have been known to bring out water, but carry your own bowl so you are not relying on it. Settle your dog on the building side of the tables, out of the foot traffic, and you have a proper long-lunch setup in the middle of town. The footpath tables are popular through the morning rush, so arriving earlier rather than later is the reliable way to get one.

Worth knowing

This is a breakfast-and-lunch venue, not dinner. Regulars rate the tempura prawns, lentil croquettes and eggs benedict, and the burger and steak-sandwich end of the menu holds its own too, with cakes and proper coffee to finish. Trading runs roughly 8am to 3pm Monday to Friday and 7am to midday Saturday, with Sunday closed, so plan your dog walk around a morning or early-afternoon slot and check the current hours before a weekend trip.

Getting there and parking

The bistro sits directly on Bourbong Street in the Bundaberg CBD, with free street parking along Bourbong and the surrounding blocks. Everything in central Bundaberg is walkable from here, so it is an easy stop to fold into a longer walk rather than a destination you drive to separately.

Close by with the dogs

The Burnett River walk near the Burnett Bridge is just down the road, good for a leg-stretch before you claim a table, and there are central green spaces for a lead walk either side of a meal.
