Ben Bennett Bushland Park

Right in the middle of urban Caloundra, Ben Bennett Bushland Park packs 21 hectares of eucalypt forest, paperbark woodland and wet and dry heath into a few short bush tracks. Main access is off Queen Street, just past Caloundra High School.

Lead rules

Sunshine Coast Council welcomes dogs, and they must be kept on lead at all times on the trails.

The walk

The tracks are natural dirt and mulch, and they are short, mostly between 800 metres and 1.1 km return.

A thick natural canopy shades much of the network. Seasonal wildflowers and birdlife give dogs plenty to sniff.

Getting started

There is a bitumen car park at the Queen Street entrance. Toilets, picnic tables and electric barbecues sit within the park grounds.

Max: Water points on the inner tracks are few. Carry a bottle and a bowl for the dog.

Make a day of it

Sip Happens Caloundra and The Caloundra Cafe are nearby for coffee.

With short, shaded tracks, it suits older dogs and hot days when the coastal path is too exposed.
