What visitors mention
Prime Ministers Walk is a short, flat creek-side trail through Bardwell Valley Parklands, taking about fifteen to twenty minutes end to end alongside Bardwell Creek. It's a peaceful, well-defined suburban bush walk with history markers along the way, and it links straight into the Shepherd Parade off-leash area if your dog wants to add some free running to the walk.
The walk. Flat, short, and easy, this suits any fitness level and connects into the wider Bardwell Valley Parklands network if you want to extend the loop. Surface is a mix of dirt track and grass, fine for paws in dry weather but expect mud after rain.
Leash status. The track itself calls for a lead, with off-leash only once you're inside the adjoining Shepherd Parade Reserve area. Dogs need to stay under control, in sight, and not harass other walkers or dogs, and pick-up bags aren't guaranteed on site, so bring your own.
Water. There's natural creek access along the way but no taps, so carry water and a bowl for your dog, especially on warmer days.
Getting there. Access is via Bardwell Road, Bardwell Valley, with street parking on the surrounding residential streets. It's an easy walk from Bardwell Park or Bexley North train stations, making this one of the more transit-friendly trails in the area.

Nearby with the dogs. Grab a coffee afterwards at Where's Wolli Cafe in Wolli Creek, or head to Liquid Art Café in Kingsgrove. If your dog needs a fully fenced run instead, Kingsgrove Avenue Reserve Fenced Dog Park isn't far.
Early mornings and weekday mid-mornings are quietest, weekend mornings and the after-school rush bring the crowds. Good for an easy, low-effort walk with a dog that enjoys a paddle rather than a hike.
