Pacific Pearl is a beachfront holiday house at Toogoom, about 20 minutes from Hervey Bay, set up from the ground around dogs. Dogs are welcome inside the house as well as the fenced garden, which puts it ahead of most beach rentals that restrict pets to the yard. The hosts supply two stainless steel dog bowls and dedicated dog towels, and the whole property is step-free with wide flat decking, so it doubles as accessible accommodation. No pet fee or weight limit is published in the listing, so confirm any charge, the number of dogs allowed and the indoor arrangements with the host when you book.

The beach rules

Fraser Coast Regional Council runs timed access on the Toogoom Foreshore rather than 24-hour off-leash: dogs are off-leash from 3pm to 8am and must be on a leash from 8am to 3pm, within the designated stretch between the pathway opposite Lorikeet Avenue and the pathway between 76 and 78 Kingfisher Parade. Droppings go in the provided bins. Unlike the 24-hour off-leash zones at Scarness and Urangan in Hervey Bay, Toogoom keeps its rotating window, so morning walks are the easy off-leash slot.

Walk the foreshore path to Toogoom 10 Beach Access to explore further along the sand, and settle in for a garden meal at Salty at Toogoom on Moreton Street, where dogs are welcome.
