The Historic, Pomona Hotel

The pub

The kitchen is well regarded for generous, reasonably priced country-pub meals and the room has an easy, community feel with friendly locals, which reviews return to again and again. The building sits right beside the old railway line in a town that has barely changed pace in a century. Across the street country, the Majestic Theatre on Factory Street has been running continuously since 1921 and still screens silent movies, which makes a pub meal and a matinee an easy pair.

Getting there and parking

Pomona is about 25 minutes north of Cooroy on the Bruce Highway side of the hinterland, and the hotel is central at 1 Station Street near the town centre. There is off-street parking at the venue plus street parking on Station Street and surrounding roads, so the walk from the car with a dog is short.

Close by with the dogs

Pomona Village Kitchen up the road is the other dog-friendly eat in town, Drip Koffee House and The Scullery Cafe cover coffee, and the Pomona Showground is the alternative overnight option in town. The markets run on some Saturdays and the leashed trail country around Cooran and Cooroy is close by.
