Trail 518

Trail 518 sits on Pomona's main street in the Noosa hinterland, and it is a genuine dog-friendly stop with a run of covered pavement tables out front. It is an easy first coffee on a day trip through town, with the kitchen rated for breakfast and lunch: the Reuben, the mushroom dish and the pesto and parmesan arancini get the regular call-outs, and the coffee comes from Flying West roasters.

The dog setup is the sidewalk tables directly outside the cafe, roughly seven of them along the front. They are covered for shade, though the pavement runs hot mid-summer, so aim for morning in the warmer months. As a food-service venue dogs stay outside rather than indoors, and staff are used to dogs and will generally sort a water bowl on request.

The vibe

This is a busy, popular spot, so a settled dog will have an easier time than an excitable one given the passing foot traffic. Hours run 7am to 3pm daily. Weekend mornings are the busiest, so arrive early if you want an outside table with room for the dog. On-street parking is usually available directly out front or close by, and the town centre is easy walking.

Pomona's flat, shady footpaths make the town centre pleasant to wander, and the cafe works as a starting point before exploring the hinterland. The Drip Koffee House is a local alternative, and the Fox and Hound Espresso at Cooroy is a short drive north if you are heading up the valley.
