The pet policy

The place

It is a relaxed, nature-focused park with large grassy and slab sites for caravans, motorhomes and tents, a resort pool, a camp kitchen with a well-kept barbecue area, and laundry facilities. Kangaroos graze around the grounds, which is a nice bonus for people and a recall test for dogs.

Location and nearby

The park sits directly on the South Western Highway in Serpentine. One caution to plan around: Serpentine National Park and the falls themselves do not allow dogs, so do not count on walking there. For dog time, the fenced run at The Glades Fenced Dog Park and the Byford Hills Walk Trail are an easy drive north, and Mundijong Tavern or Jarrahdale Local Po Kitchen work for a meal without leaving the dog in the van.

Before you book

It suits campers and caravanners with settled, on-lead dogs who want a bush base near the Darling Range. Confirm the pet approval in writing, and check the park's current fire rules if you plan to bring your own fire pit.
