The vibe

Guests rate it highly for beach access, comfy beds, ocean views and balconies, with a sauna on site and executive suites at the top end. The apartment layout, with kitchen and laundry, suits keeping a dog's routine on a longer stay, and the balcony gives a wet dog somewhere to dry off away from the carpet.

Getting there and parking

The hotel sits on the Kingsway at the top of the Cronulla mall, a short walk to the sand, the esplanade path and the station, which runs straight to the city. Parking is on site. The esplanade walk from Wanda to Shelly Beach is the obvious daily circuit, leashed, with off-leash hours applying on sections of the beach at set times.

Close by with the dogs

The cafe strip is at the door: LOAF Cronulla and Top Shop at Wanda both run dog-friendly outdoor tables. Because the no-unattended rule is strict, plan dinners at dog-friendly tables rather than assuming the dog can stay in the room.
