North Haven Holiday Village

North Haven Holiday Village, formerly Jacaranda Holiday Park, is a bushland style caravan park on Ocean Drive at North Haven on the NSW mid north coast, close to the Camden Haven River and the beach. It runs self-contained cabins, powered caravan sites and unpowered camping sites, with a pool, camp kitchen and laundry, and it is one of the few parks in the Camden Haven that takes dogs in cabins as well as on sites, provided you get approval first.

Dogs at the North Haven Holiday Village

Pets stay on designated pet-friendly sites and in selected pet-friendly cabins, and management approval must come before you arrive, not at the gate. Dogs stay on lead everywhere inside the park. During peak periods, which means the December to January summer holidays, Easter and the NSW Labour Day long weekend, pets are generally not accepted without written approval from management. An unapproved dog on site attracts a $200 cleaning fee and can mean immediate removal, so confirm the details when you book and keep the approval on hand.

Worth knowing

The park is quiet and relaxed rather than resort style, with a bushland feel and easy access to the water. Pet-friendly cabin stock is limited, so book early for school holidays even outside the restricted windows. Bring your own water bowl and bedding, since on-site water stations for dogs are not guaranteed, and give the grassed sites a quick check for burrs after river walks.

Getting there and parking

The park sits on Ocean Drive at North Haven, roughly 25 minutes south of Port Macquarie. Each site and cabin has its own parking, so you are never walking far with the dog gear.

Close by with the dogs

North Haven Beach is minutes away, with off-leash access reported at the southern end outside patrolled hours, but always check current council signage before unclipping. For a guaranteed run, the Henry Kendall Canine Park at Laurieton is a short drive up the river.
