Henry Kendall Canine Park

Henry Kendall Canine Park is a fully fenced off-leash dog park within Henry Kendall Reserve on Ocean Drive, on the western edge of Laurieton. It combines open grass with bushland backing onto Stingray Creek, and includes basic agility equipment for active dogs.

The rules. Dogs must stay under effective control at all times, even inside the fenced area. Owners must pick up and bin waste. Outside the fenced canine park, the wider Henry Kendall Reserve requires dogs to be leashed, so do not assume the whole reserve is off-leash.

What's there. The park is fully fenced for safe off-leash play, with fresh drinking water on site, poo bag dispensers and bins around the perimeter, and simple agility obstacles.

Getting there. The park is on Ocean Drive, a few minutes' drive west of the Laurieton town centre, with a free gravel car park on site. It is also walkable via the pedestrian paths along Ocean Drive if you are staying nearby.

Nearby with the dogs. Village Cafe in Laurieton and the Dunbogan Boatshed both have a name for being dog-welcoming, and Diamond Waters Caravan Park at Dunbogan is a dog-friendly option if you need somewhere to stay.

When to go. Early mornings and late afternoons draw the biggest crowds of regulars, so mid-morning is calmer if your dog is nervous around other dogs. If your dog likes to paddle in Stingray Creek beyond the park, check tide times first.
