my people is a friendly coffee spot on Bold Street in the middle of Laurieton, a Camden Haven town that runs on its mornings. It is a genuine local hangout rather than a tourist stop, and dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables out front, which makes it an easy anchor for a walk around town.

Dogs are welcome at the footpath and outdoor seating on Bold Street. Indoor seating is for people only, in line with NSW Food Authority rules on animals in food premises. Staff have a reputation for welcoming regulars and their dogs, but water bowls are not guaranteed, so bring your own portable bowl to be safe. Keep your dog on lead and clear of the footpath traffic while you order.

Worth knowing

Reviewers rate the coffee, the cake and the staff, and the room is spacious and cool even at the height of summer. Phone chargers at the tables and a short list of cakes and light snacks make it as much a working stop as a brunch one. It trades 7am to 1pm Monday to Friday, 8am to noon on Saturday, and closes on Sunday.

Getting there and parking

Bold Street is Laurieton's main strip, with free street parking usually available nearby, and it is an easy turn-off if you are coming down the Pacific Highway into town.

Close by with the dogs

The Camden Haven River foreshore is a short walk away for a stretch of the legs after coffee, and Henry Kendall Canine Park offers a proper off-lead run. For a cafe hop, Spark Espresso Bar in Lakewood and Bold Espresso Bar on the same street are both dog-friendly options.
