Dogs are generally welcome, but verify the specific cottage allows them when you book. The key practical point: the property is not fully fenced, so dogs must be supervised and kept on a lead, especially around livestock and wildlife. There is one designated paddock for off-lead exercise, which you arrange with the property manager. Resident farm dogs (kelpie crosses) may be about, so factor that into how your dog handles other dogs.

The place

It is a picturesque farm stay with cottages that together sleep a large group, set in wide open spaces close to town and the wine region. Bring your own water bowls, food and bedding, as pet amenities are not provided.

Out and about in the wine region

Quiet country lanes around the farm are good for leashed walks, and the dog-friendly beaches around Prevelly are a drive away. Many cellar doors and cafes in the region welcome dogs in their outdoor areas. For a proper off-lead run in town, Brookfield Dog Park is the fenced option. Rosa Brook neighbours some of the region’s dog-tolerant cellar doors: The Berry Farm is nearby, and Settlers Tavern in town is the classic dog-friendly dinner stop.
