Olive Hill Farm

Olive Hill Farm is a nature-based RV campground set in a mature olive grove at Osmington, about 10 minutes from Margaret River town centre. It is exclusively for self-contained rigs: campervans, motorhomes and caravans with an onboard toilet, since there are no powered sites or public amenities. The 17 bays are large and well spaced through the grove, and the property runs down to the Margaret River at its foot, with a farm walk to the water. Guests consistently mention the peaceful atmosphere, campfires at night and sunsets over the grove.

Dogs at the Olive Hill Farm

Dogs are welcome at your campsite in the olive grove, and the property markets itself as pet and family friendly. The rules matter more here than at a suburban park: dogs must be on a lead at all times on the property, cannot be left unattended at the site if you head out for the day, and you are expected to clean up after them. This is a working farm with grazing sheep, so a controlled dog is a condition of staying, not a suggestion.

Bring everything your dog needs, including food, water and bedding, as the site is rustic by design. There is a $5 fee per cassette for the on-site dump point, and bins and firewood are provided for campers.

The vibe

Max: Sheep on a working farm means lead-on, no exceptions, but our dog still had the best time sniffing the olive rows on our morning walks down to the river.

This is a base for self-contained travellers who want a quiet farm stay rather than a resort park. Evenings are for a campfire under the stars, and mornings for the walk down to the river with the dog before driving into town for supplies. If you want cabins, powered sites or a pool, this is not that place, and that is the point.

Getting there and parking

The farm is on Osmington Road, north-east of Margaret River town, an easy drive from town along unsealed and sealed farm roads suitable for caravans. Book ahead for summer and school holidays, since well-spaced bays mean limited sites even in a 17-bay campground.

While you're out there

Let the dog run at Brookfield Dog Park on the edge of town, grab coffee and pastries at Combi Coffee on your way to the coast at Prevelly, or compare the setup at Riverview Tourist Park if you decide you want powered sites and cabins after all.
