The Berry Farm

The Berry Farm is a working farm, cafe and cellar door on Bessell Road in Rosa Glen, about 15 minutes from Margaret River. Dogs are welcome across the gardens and the outdoor cafe seating, with water bowls and dog hooks near the cellar door making it an easy stop on a day out.

The rules. Dogs must stay on lead throughout the property and owners are expected to clean up after them. There is no entry fee for dogs. The Cottage Cafe and Cellar Door interiors are dogs-off, so plan on the outdoor tables if you want to eat with your dog beside you.

What's there. Water bowls are set out for dogs, and dog hooks near the cellar door let you tie up briefly for a quick tasting. The grounds are landscaped with shady trees, good for sitting out a warm Margaret River afternoon.

Getting there. It's about 15 kilometres southeast of central Margaret River via Rosa Glen Road, a scenic but winding drive, so watch for wildlife. Parking is free and on-site but fills quickly on weekends and public holidays, so aim to arrive early.

Nearby with the dogs. Eagles Heritage Raptor Wildlife Centre on Boodjidup Road allows leashed dogs on its bush walking tracks. Ten Mile Brook Trail near central Margaret River is a flat, on-leash walk. For a swim, Gnarabup Beach at Prevelly has a dedicated off-leash exercise area.

When to go. Weekday mornings are quietest for parking and table space. If you're after Devonshire tea and a relaxed wander through the gardens rather than a squeeze for a car spot, avoid Saturday lunch in peak season.
