Si Vintners

Si Vintners is a small family-run estate on Caves Road at Rosa Glen, farming its vines organically and biodynamically in the hills south of the Margaret River townsite. The cellar door is rustic and personal, tastings are hosted by the people who made the wine, and well-behaved dogs are welcome on a lead in the outdoor areas.

The dog setup

Dogs on leads are welcome in the outdoor parts of the cellar door, where seated and bar tastings, wines by the glass and grazing plates are served. Keep the lead on throughout: this is a working farm with sheep, ducks, geese and guineafowl supporting the biodynamic system, and their wellbeing comes first.

One clear exception to plan around: dogs are not permitted on the Biodynamic Farm Tour, so either skip the tour or take turns with your travel partner. Bring your own water bowl, as this is a scaled-down setup rather than a full tourist facility.

The vibe

Expect a low-key, hands-on tasting rather than a polished operation. The wines are minimal-intervention and often unusual, and hosts walk you through what the biodynamic farming actually means in the glass. Weekdays are best for a dog visit, when there is space to settle on the grass and the conversation is unhurried.

Getting there and parking

The estate sits on Caves Road between Margaret River and the Karri country to the south, roughly ten minutes from Witchcliffe. Parking is informal gravel and verge space at the cellar door. Roads out here are narrow and shared with tractors and wildlife, so take it easy at dusk.

While you're out there

Rosa Glen pairs well with the Berry Farm, which welcomes dogs in its gardens a few minutes down the road: The Berry Farm does berry wines and a boysenberry pie worth the detour. Brown Hill Estate at Rosa Brook is another dog-welcoming working winery nearby, and Walsh and Sons up on Caves Road keeps undercover seating for dogs and their people.
