Ingenia Holidays Lake Macquarie is a lakefront holiday park at 28 Monterey Ave in Mannering Park, on the western shore of Lake Macquarie about 70 minutes north of Sydney. It combines direct lake frontage with a private boat ramp and jetty, and it runs designated pet-friendly cabins and sites, which makes it a rare waterside base on the lake where dogs are genuinely part of the booking.

Dogs stay only in accommodation marked pet-friendly: selected cabins such as Poolside Villas and Motel Units, plus Ensuite, Waterfront, Deluxe and Premium Powered sites. Premium villas like the 3 Bedroom Waterfront Villa and Boat Shed are excluded, so check the pet icon on the listing before booking. A maximum of two dogs applies per accommodation type, and you register the dog with management before arrival, signing a pet agreement at check-in. A pet fee applies and is confirmed at booking; there is no published weight limit, with acceptance at the manager's discretion. Inside the park, dogs stay leashed whenever outside and walks follow the park roadways only. Amenity blocks, the camp kitchen, pool, playground and jumping pillow are all off-limits, dogs cannot be left unattended, and you bring your own bedding, bowls and food.

The vibe

This is the quiet end of the lake rather than a tourist strip. The park sits on calm waterfront with kayak and stand-up paddleboard hire, a swimming pool, BBQs and a camp kitchen, and the Mannering Park shops are a 500-metre stroll away. Guest reviews consistently call out the lake views and clean cabins. Note the strict no-fire policy runs from 1 October to 31 March.

Getting there and parking

Mannering Park sits at the southern end of Lake Macquarie between Wyee and Budgewoi. Driving in from the M1, take the Wyee turn-off and follow Mannering Road around the shoreline. Sites and cabins have adjacent parking, and the boat ramp handles the tinny if you are towing.

Close by with the dogs

Budgewoi Dog Beach is a short drive north for an off-lead beach session on the coast side. On the lake, the foreshore outside the park works for on-lead walks. For a meal run, Catho Pub ("Catherine Hill Bay Hotel") and The Corner Cafe & Spill the Tea Hydration Bar in the village are the nearest options, and Coastal and Co.
