LEEFY CAFE

Leefy Cafe is a small, independent cafe in the local shopping complex at Shop 12, 121 Wyee Road, and it has quietly become one of the Central Coast's recommended dog stops, making a dog-friendly cafes list put together by Coast Magazine. The setup is simple: the outdoor seating out the front is where dogs go, and the happy, unhurried service is what regulars come back for.

The outdoor tables

Dogs are welcome strictly in the outdoor seating area out the front; the inside is people only. The space is small, so it suits a well-behaved dog on a short lead sitting in close beside the table. Water bowls have not been consistently confirmed across sources, so pack a portable bowl or ask the staff when you order, and pick your moment on busy weekend mornings when the tables are tight.

Worth knowing

The coffee is the headline, made by dedicated baristas, with quality teas for the non-coffee half of the table. The food leans to seasonal, locally sourced ingredients served in a casual breakfast and brunch register: toasties, light plates and fresh cafe meals, plus a kids menu that makes it a family stop as well as a dog stop. Reviewers describe happy staff and a relaxed atmosphere in a village-cafe setting, and the smaller room means the outside tables carry the dog friendly load.

Getting there

Wyee Road is the main road through Wyee, a lake-side village on the border of the Central Coast and Lake Macquarie, with free off-street parking directly in front of the shops and flat, easy access from the car park. Hours run Tuesday to Friday from 7am, Saturdays from 8am and a short Sunday morning shift to noon; Mondays are closed, so plan the dog walk around it.
