The Clog Barn Tourist Attraction & Caravan Park

The Clog Barn is a family-run caravan park and tourist attraction on the Pacific Highway in Coffs Harbour, built around a miniature Dutch village with working windmills, cuckoo clocks and daily clog-making demonstrations. It is a genuinely practical stop for road-trippers with dogs: pets are taken on powered sites and in designated pet-friendly cabins, and the whole property is a leashed, compact place to overnight.

Dogs are welcome on powered caravan and camping sites and in the designated pet-friendly cabins, with a pet fee of around $20 per pet per stay. The rule everywhere on site is a leash at all times, including the outdoor areas of the miniature village, the gift shop surrounds and the outdoor tables at Big Oma's Coffee House, where dogs can sit with you while you order Dutch treats. Pet cabins are limited and book out in school holidays, so call ahead, mention the dog when booking, and confirm the current fee for your dates.

Max: this is a leashed overnight stop, not a run-around park. It suits a settled dog that is happy walking the village paths on lead and settling on a powered site for the night.

The place

Beyond the village itself there is a pool, a cafe and a souvenir shop, and the clog-making demonstrations run daily in season. For a touring dog the appeal is the combination of attractions to wander through on lead and simple, well-priced sites, rather than open exercise space. Cats may be considered on prior request.

Getting there and parking

The park is at 215 Pacific Hwy, Coffs Harbour, with direct highway access and ample on-site parking for cars, caravans and rigs. It is an easy stop coming off the highway without needing to cross town.

While you're out there

For a leashed leg-stretch, the Coffs Creek Walk and Cycleway is a short drive away, and Thompsons Road Reserve Fenced Dog Park gives your dog a proper off-lead run. For a beach morning before you push on, the North Wall Beach Off-Leash Area is the local pick.
