Discovery Parks - Byron Bay

Discovery Parks Byron Bay is a large holiday park on the Ewingsdale Road side of town, set in bushland a short drive from the centre. It takes dogs on selected sites and in some pet-friendly cabins, which makes it a workable base for a Byron trip with a dog when the central options are booked out.

The pet policy

Dogs are generally allowed on powered caravan and tent sites, with selected pet-friendly cabins available; you need to book direct and confirm, as pets are accepted at management's discretion and can carry seasonal restrictions. A cleaning fee can apply to pet cabins. Because the specifics shift, confirm site type, any size limits and the current fee when you book rather than relying on a general listing.

The rules on-site

Dogs stay on lead everywhere in the park unless there is a designated off-leash area, must never be left unattended (cabins included), and you clean up immediately. Expect the usual exclusion from communal facilities like the camp kitchen, pool and cafe.

It is a resort-style family park with a pool, water park, playground and an on-site cafe, set back in bushland for a quieter feel than staying in the town centre, while still close to town and the beaches. Peak season fills fast, and pet sites and cabins are among the first to go.

Location & nearby

The park sits off Ewingsdale Road, the main approach from the Pacific Highway, with on-site parking by your site or cabin. The Belongil Beach South Dog Exercise Area, with off-lead zones, and Tallow Beach to the south are both close, and the town's dog-friendly cafes are a short drive in.
