Trinity Islands Holiday Park

Trinity Islands Holiday Park spreads across 108 acres at Burrum River on the Fraser Coast, with three private islands and an 11-acre lake sitting between the sites and the Burrum River. Dogs are welcome on the caravan and camping sites at management's discretion, which makes this a proper base for a dog-friendly Fraser Coast trip rather than a call-ahead-and-hope booking.

The pet policy is clear and worth reading before you book. Dogs stay on powered and unpowered camping and caravan sites, not in cabins, and not in common areas such as the amenities block or reception. You sign a dog policy agreement at check-in, dogs must be on a leash no longer than 2 metres whenever they are outside the van or tent, and they cannot be left unattended at any point, even inside your setup. No dog runs are permitted, so plan to walk your dog rather than stake them out. Confirm current conditions and any site-specific exceptions with the park directly before you arrive.

The vibe

This is a quiet, nature-based park. Sites are large, many of them lakefront, and the extras are generous: complimentary kayaks and stand-up paddleboards for the private lake, catch-and-release fishing, a camp kitchen, fire pits, hot showers and laundry. Kangaroos move through the grounds, so the park suits dogs that are settled around wildlife rather than reactive to it.

Getting there

The park sits on Burrum Heads Road, between Maryborough and Burrum Heads, with good access for caravans and large rigs including drive-through sites on request. Bring your own pet supplies and water bowl; town water is available for tanks but there is no pet store on site.

While you're out there

The Burrum River runs close by for a fishing walk, and Burrum Heads Beach is within easy reach for an on-lead run, though beach leash and off leash zones vary by section, so check the current Fraser Coast Regional Council rules before you go. For an off-lead session on the way through, Howard Dog Park is a short detour inland, and if you want a coastal coffee stop, Salty at Toogoom welcomes dogs.
