Skyline Apartments

Skyline Apartments is a 47-storey residential tower at 30 Macrossan Street in Petrie Bight, on the northern edge of the Brisbane CBD. It went up in 2007 on the old 4BC radio studios site and, at 150 metres, was the third tallest residential building in the city at the time. The 183 apartments run from one and two-bedroom to three-bedroom, penthouse and sub-penthouse stock, and the building looks down both reaches of the Brisbane River. It is offered as short-stay accommodation through AAB, and pets are allowed on request rather than as a guaranteed policy.

The complex is known as pet-friendly in general terms, but approval sits with the host for each booking. Pets are accepted on request and charges may apply, and public booking summaries do not publish a weight limit or a written rule set. The practical move is to message the host before you pay: confirm your specific dog is approved, ask about fees and any size limits for the apartment you want, and get the answer in writing. A dog that has been cleared verbally can still be a problem at check-in if nothing was documented.

The apartments come with balconies, and the river-facing ones get a clear run at the Story Bridge fireworks during Riverfire and New Year's Eve, which guests single out as a highlight. Building facilities are unusually deep for the CBD: a full-size tennis court, heated pool and spa, gym, steam room and BBQ areas. It is a residential building with holiday apartments in it rather than a resort, so house rules and body corporate bylaws apply, another reason to have the pet approval sorted before arrival. Secure parking is available in the building's 253-space basement.

Close by with the dogs

The Margaret Street Fenced Dog Park is the closest proper off-leash option for a quick city run, and the riverside paths of the City Botanic Gardens are a short walk for an on-lead leg stretch. Felons Barrel Hall at Howard Smith Wharves is the riverfront pick for a meal with the dog nearby. If the apartment style does not suit, Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre is another CBD option that takes dogs.
