The short version. Felons Barrel Hall is an industrial-style beer hall at Howard Smith Wharves, tucked under the Story Bridge on the Brisbane River. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor riverside seating, which is the whole point of coming here with one: the setting does the work.

The dog setup. Dogs are fine in the open-air seating around the hall but not inside the building itself. The outdoor area is large and sunny with river and Story Bridge views. Staff are used to dogs and will usually sort out water, but bring your own bowl and a mat, since it is a busy, high-traffic spot and your dog will want somewhere to settle.

Good to know. The draw is beer poured straight from the tanks, plus wood-fired pizza and shared plates. It gets loud and social at peak times, which suits confident dogs and is a lot for nervous ones.

Getting there. The easiest arrival is on foot along the riverside path from the CBD or Fortitude Valley. There is a paid parking station on site at Howard Smith Wharves, but it fills fast on weekends. The free City Loop bus and nearby ferry terminals are good car-free options.

Nearby with the dogs. Walk off lunch along the riverside path under the Story Bridge, or head up to Wilson Outlook Reserve above the precinct for a quieter patch of green and a river view.

It is elbow-to-elbow at peak times. Come earlier in the day so there is room for your dog to lie down out of the foot traffic.
