Perth Central Caravan Park

Perth Central Caravan Park sits on Central Avenue in Ascot, just off Great Eastern Highway and a few minutes from both Perth Airport and the Swan River, and it takes dogs seriously as guests rather than an exception. Pet-friendly powered sites and specific pet-friendly cabins are both on the books, which makes it a genuine base for an airport stopover or a Perth visit without leaving the dog behind.

Dogs at Perth Central Caravan Park

Dogs are welcome on designated powered sites (caravan, campervan or tent) and in a specific set of pet-friendly one- and two-bedroom cabins, but you must tell the park you are travelling with a pet when you book. A refundable pet bond of around $50 is taken on arrival and returned at check-out if there are no issues. No breed or size limit is advertised, but acceptance is ultimately at the park manager's discretion, so confirm at booking. The rules are enforced rather than decorative: leads must be under 2 metres at all times outside, dog runs and tie-out cables are not allowed, and pets cannot be left unattended, including inside a van or cabin. A noisy or aggressive animal can end a stay on the spot.

Off limits and clean up

The pool area, amenities blocks, camp kitchen and reception are all no-go zones for pets. Waste has to be picked up immediately and bagged in the green bins provided, and washing your dog or pet bedding in the park's laundry or amenities is not permitted. There is no advertised dog wash, so bring your own water bowl and anything else your dog needs for the stay.

Max: The 2 metre leash rule and the ban on tie-out cables are enforced here, so plan to be on the other end of the lead whenever you step off your site.

Close by with the dogs

The Swan River walk and bike path runs behind the park, an easy on-lead option morning or evening, and the Belmont Dog Park is a short drive across the river. If you want a longer stretch, the Bayswater and Ascot river trails start nearby, and dog-friendly cafes are a short drive away in Belmont and Guildford.
