bamb bino's Coffee & Icecreamery

bamb bino's is a walk-up and drive-through coffee and gelato stop at 31A Old Perth Road, at the top end of Bassendean's main strip, and it has quietly become the dog-walkers' default. It trades 6am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 3pm on weekends, and dogs are welcome at the outdoor footpath and veranda seating, with free treats reported for visiting dogs and even a friendly reception through the drive-through.

The dog setup

Dogs settle at the outdoor tables, and the walk-up format means you can roll straight in off the footpath with the lead still on. The tables sit close to the street, so keep a short lead on anything excitable about passing cars and bikes. Indoor seating is limited, so plan around the outdoor tables regardless of the season.

Worth knowing

Coffee is the draw, with gelato and ice cream covering the warmer months and toasties and quick bites on the board, and the whole thing runs on walk-up speed rather than table service. Free street parking sits directly out front on Old Perth Road with more nearby, and the Memorial Gardens across the road give a quick patch of green if the dog needs a minute. Mornings are the sweet spot, when the dog-walking crowd rolls through and the footpath tables are in full play.

Make it a circuit: Mary Crescent Reserve Off Lead Dog Area at Eden Hill is close by for a proper run, Caff on Broadway and Toe Beans cover the rest of the strip's dog-friendly coffee, and Bassendean Hotel is the pub lunch option. More are in the WA cafes index.
