What visitors mention
The short version. The Bassendean Hotel, the Basso to locals, is a renovated 1930s community pub on Old Perth Road with multiple indoor and outdoor spaces. It is a properly dog-friendly setup, to the point of running a dog charcuterie board.
Where the dogs go. Dogs are welcome on the ground-level verandah and in the family-friendly courtyard. They are not allowed inside the main dining rooms or upstairs, so plan to sit outside. Water bowls are put out in the outdoor areas, and the venue offers a dogcuterie board if you want to shout the dog something.
Good to know. The Basso is a genuine community cornerstone, recently refurbished to a high standard. The kitchen runs pub classics like chicken parmi, chilli mussels and steaks, and there is regular live music, often on Sunday afternoons. The courtyard doubles as a family space with a children's playground, so you can bring the whole crew plus the dog.
Getting there. It sits near Bassendean train station, so it is easy to reach without driving. Free street parking runs along Old Perth Road and the side streets, and the venue is wheelchair accessible.
Make a day of it. Old Perth Road is a pleasant on-lead stroll before or after, and Success Hill Reserve and the Swan River walks are a short hop away for a proper run.

Weekday afternoons and early evenings are the calm window; weekends and music sessions pack the courtyard.
