Caff on Broadway

Caff on Broadway is a busy vintage-styled brunch cafe on the Broadway strip in Bassendean, and it is genuinely set up for dogs rather than merely tolerating them. The pick of the seating is the leafy backyard alfresco area out the rear, reached down the driveway to the right of the shopfront, which the cafe itself points visitors toward.

The dog setup

Bring the dog to the rear courtyard, the roomiest and most relaxed spot, where a lead-tied dog can settle under the table away from the street. There is also a small fenced patio at the front if the backyard is full. Water bowls are put out for visiting dogs and dog treats turn up for sale from time to time. Keep dogs on lead and off the walkways between tables at peak times.

Hours run 6am to 3pm daily. It is a well-regarded local spot, which means weekend mornings fill fast, so early is easier with a dog.

The cafe sits on the main Broadway commercial stretch, a short walk from Bassendean train station. Free street parking and a nearby public lot cover most visits, though both tighten on weekend mornings. For a walk with the dog afterwards, Success Hill Reserve is a short drive for a leafy on-lead river stretch, the off-lead area at Mary Crescent Reserve is over in Eden Hill, and Toe Beans is another cat-and-dog-friendly stop in the same suburb. The riverfront patio at Bassendean Hotel handles the other end of the day.
