Airlie Beach Lodge

Airlie Beach Lodge is a small motor lodge at 2 Lamond Street, an easy walk from the main street and the foreshore, that takes dogs in designated rooms for $25 per pet per night. It is a laid-back, three-star base with a pool and a sauna, and it is one of the few stays in town that publishes its pet terms on its own FAQ page rather than leaving you to guess.

Dogs at the Airlie Beach Lodge

Pets stay in designated rooms only: Queen Deluxe units, Economy Queen rooms and self-contained studios, some with enclosed private balconies. Because only some rooms qualify, book directly with the lodge rather than through an automated channel so a pet room is allocated. The house rules are clear: dogs sleep on the floor or their own bed, not on the furniture, pets are supervised during the stay, and management has final say on approvals. Food and water bowls are typically provided. The $25 per pet per night fee is the published extra.

The vibe

Informal and friendly rather than polished. Guests mention comfortable beds, sea views from the balconies, a BBQ area, and staff who help out with local knowledge. Lamond Street sits on the hillside above town, so expect a short walk down to the lagoon and a walk back up.

Getting there and out with the dog

The lodge is about ten minutes on foot from the Airlie Beach main street and the lagoon, and a short drive from Shute Harbour for island transfers. The Bicentennial Walkway along the foreshore is the on-lead walk of choice, with the boardwalk continuing out toward Cannonvale.
