Rufus & Co. is a marina-precinct cafe in Airlie Beach named after a much-loved dog, which tells you most of what you need to know about how welcome yours will be. It is a genuine local favourite for breakfast, coffee and lunch with a pet in tow.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating, with a comfortable spot to watch the marina come and go. Water bowls are generally provided and the place leans into being pet-friendly. Bring your own bowl as backup in the heat.

Known for. Quality coffee from 7am daily, house-baked treats such as apple crumble, and a solid breakfast and lunch menu for dine-in or takeaway.

Getting there and parking. In the marina area, an easy stop before or after time on the water. Marina parking is on-site but fills at peak times, and the pedestrian paths around the marina make it walkable.

Nearby with the dogs. Calm leashed walking paths loop the marina, and the Bicentennial Walkway links toward Cannonvale for a longer scenic walk.

Best for an early coffee before the marina gets moving. Good for dogs of any size who settle at an outdoor table.
