The short version. Fat Frog Beach Cafe sits on the waterfront at 44 Coral Esplanade, looking straight out over Cannonvale Beach, and it is one of the most genuinely dog-welcoming feeds in the Whitsundays. Dogs join you on the undercover balcony that opens right onto the beachfront path.

The dog setup. The outdoor terrace is the dog zone, and it is set up for it: staff bring out water bowls and treats, and there is a dedicated Healthy Hound item on the menu for your dog. Access is straight off the seawall walking path, so you can arrive mid-walk without going inside.

Good to know. It is busy and locals rate it, with house-made food and Campos coffee. The Sunday Puppy Breakfast Club is a regular fixture if you want company. Kitchen runs breakfast and lunch, roughly 7am to 2pm on weekdays and from 8am on weekends.

Getting there. Street parking runs along Coral Esplanade and fills on weekend mornings, so come early or walk in along the path. The cafe sits directly on the Bicentennial Walkway that links Cannonvale to Airlie Beach.

Nearby with the dogs. Cannonvale Beach is directly opposite, with an off-leash window at the eastern end early morning and early evening. Pair a coffee with a beach run either side.

Come for the 8am weekend slot before the crowd builds, grab the balcony, and let the dog cool off on the beach across the road afterwards.
