It is walking distance to Cannonvale shops, which is the practical advantage over more remote Whitsunday parks: you can restock, eat out and walk the dog without moving the car.

Getting there and parking

Cannonvale is the quieter neighbour of Airlie Beach, about 15 minutes from Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) airport and five minutes from the Airlie Beach main strip. The park is on Shute Harbour Road with on-site parking at your site. Across the road, the Cannonvale Dog Exercise Area gives your dog an off-lead break, and the beachfront path links toward the Airlie Beach Boardwalk.

Fat Frog Beach Cafe on the Cannonvale beachfront is an easy dog-friendly breakfast stop, and Airlie Beach Lodge is a relaxed motel alternative in town that also permits pets. If this park is full, Discovery Parks - Airlie Beach at Jubilee Pocket is the other big pet-friendly caravan base in the Whitsundays. One local warning: cane toads are active in grassy areas on warm evenings and are toxic to dogs, so keep a torch handy at night.
