The Sweet Spot Whitsundays

The Sweet Spot Whitsundays is a family-run bakery and cafe at Coral Sea Marina in Cannonvale, with water views and one of the warmest dog welcomes in the Whitsundays: dogs are encouraged right up to the counter to place their order.

The dog setup

Dogs sit beside you in the open-air and outdoor seating, with complimentary water bowls, house-made peanut butter biscuits and puppuccinos on offer. It is casual and compact, so a settled dog on a lead fits right in.

The vibe

The cabinet is the draw: croissants, danishes, gourmet pies, house-made sausage rolls, breakfast bagels, double-choc cookies and custom celebration cakes, all backed by Paradox coffee. Staff hand out dog biscuits along with the pastries, and the marina deck gives you a water view with breakfast.

Pepsi: get in early, order the dog a puppuccino and yourself a smoked salmon bagel, then walk the boardwalk to earn it.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is at Shop 3a, 62 Shingley Drive, inside Coral Sea Marina. Opening hours run from 6.30am daily, with closing between late morning and mid-afternoon, so it suits an early feed. Marina parking is paid and free in parts and gets tight in peak tourist season; you can also walk or ride in along the seaside boardwalk from Airlie Beach.

Pair it with

The Bicentennial Walkway passes the marina and links Cannonvale to Airlie Beach on leash. For an off-leash window, Cannonvale Dog Exercise Area is nearby, and Fat Frog Beach Cafe is the other local dog-friendly cafe.
