Treehouse Airlie Beach

Treehouse Airlie Beach sits in Lagoon Plaza on Shute Harbour Road, serving breakfast and lunch from 7:30am to 3pm every day. Corn fritters, smashed avo and eggs benedict lead the menu, ocean views come standard, and dogs are welcome in the outdoor terrace seating with their people.

The dog setup

Per the venue's Facebook page and consistent visitor feedback, dogs are welcome in the outdoor terrace and the fig-tree shaded seating areas, kept on a lead near the table. There is no published written policy, so staff will guide you to the right tables on arrival. The sheltered terrace catches the lagoon breeze, which helps on warm Whitsunday mornings, and water for dogs is generally easy to arrange with a word to the team. The team is used to dogs at the tables, so settling in on a busy morning is rarely a fight for space.

Max: Sat under the fig trees with our kelpie, corn fritters arrived fast and the staff brought her a bowl of water before we even asked.

Worth knowing

Live music sessions and the steady tourist traffic mean the plaza can get busy late morning, so arriving near opening is the calmer option with a dog. The all day breakfast service makes it a reliable stop whenever the morning walk finishes later than planned.

Make a day of it: the Airlie Beach Boardwalk starts close to the plaza and makes a good leashed warm-up before breakfast. Other dog friendly cafes in town include Harry's Corner Cafe, Rufus & Co. Cafe and BOHO café.
