BOHO cafe sits right on the water at Coral Sea Marina (the old Abel Point Marina) in Airlie Beach, serving a healthy brunch menu with the boats in view. It is a popular dog spot, and the marina-side outdoor seating is the reason to bring yours.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor marina-side seating, which has the space and the breeze for a comfortable sit. Weekend mornings draw plenty of dogs, so it is a relaxed crowd. Water bowls are usually around and treats sometimes appear, but bring your own bowl to be sure.

Known for. Strong coffee, acai and smoothie bowls, avocado toast and banana bread, with good vegetarian and vegan range. Open early, generally from 6:30am, and best caught before the late-morning rush.

Getting there and parking. Inside Coral Sea Marina on Shingley Drive. There is free street parking along Shingley Drive plus paid parking in the marina complex. It gets busy on weekends, so arriving before 8am makes both a table and parking easier.

Nearby with the dogs. The cafe connects straight to the Bicentennial Walkway, a flat paved path with ocean views running between the marina and Airlie township. Shingley Beach is a short walk for an on-leash wander.

Water on one side, a long flat boardwalk on the other, and an early-morning crowd of other dogs. Get there before the heat and make a loop of it.

Best early, before the weekend brunch crush. Good for social dogs who like a busy, breezy waterfront.
