Burger Urge (Wodonga)

Burger Urge on High Street is central Wodonga's casual gourmet burger option, and the outdoor seating section takes dogs. It is a fast-casual setup rather than a long-sitting restaurant, which suits a no-fuss lunch or dinner between walks, and the outdoor area comes with individual gas heaters at the seating stations so colder Border evenings do not end the plan.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area, with easy ground-level access for walking straight up on the lead. Staff are generally accommodating with dogs, and patrons eat here with theirs regularly. Keep the dog on the outside of the table so the footpath flow stays clear, and bring your own water bowl, because this is a quick-turnover venue rather than one with a dedicated dog station. Heaters at each seating group make the outdoor section genuinely usable through winter rather than a fair-weather only arrangement.

The food and the vibe

The menu is a list of gourmet burgers across beef, chicken and plant-based, with the southern fried burger, dirty fries and onion rings the recurring orders. Sweet potato fries and a vegan burger give the plant-based side real coverage, and service runs quick, which matters if your dog has a limited sitting patience. Doors open from 11am daily and trade runs into the evening, so it covers both lunch and dinner; Sundays and Mondays close at 8:30pm, with the rest of the week running to 9pm.

Getting there and parking

The address is 130 High Street in the middle of town, with free street parking on High Street and at nearby Mann Central, and the surrounding blocks are flat and walkable. Wodonga sits on the Murray River side of the Albury-Wodonga twin towns, about fifteen minutes' drive from central Albury across the border.
